Kickball

Object
  • Kick a large ball while sitting.
Direction
  1. Trainer sits approximately three to four feet away from client.
  2. Trainer rolls large ball to right leg only; left leg only
  3. Client must kick ball to alternating legs, adding fakes
Sparking
  • Quadricepts, hamstrings, core, ankle flex, visual tracking, kinesthetic perception

 

Isometric Chest Press

Object
  • Press hands together for 5 seconds
Direction
  1. Client sits/stands
  2. Client inhales and presses hands together at chest level.
  3. Exhale while pressing for 5 seocnds
Sparking
  • Upper-body strength


Isometric Tricep

Object
  • Arm presses down against self-resistance
Direction
  1. Client sits/stands
  2. Raise wrist to shoulder level, plam facing in
  3. Place opposite palm against back of wrist
  4. Arm pusshes down against self-resistance of opposite hand
Sparking
  • Tricep strength


Isometric Biceps

Object
  • Arm pulls up against self-resistance
Direction
  1. Client sits/stands
  2. Place opposite palm over inside of wrist
  3. Start, palms up, arm at 45-degrees, pull arm up while providing self-resistance with opposite hand
  4. End at shoulder
Sparking
  • Bicep strength


Number Bump

Object
  • Follow hand and finger movements
Direction
  1. Client sits/stands
  2. Trainer faces client; all fingers closed
  3. Trainer makes hand-bumping movements as fingers pop up and bump to next hand (which may or may not add up)
  4. Client mirrors all movements
Sparking
  • Advanced reflexive body/brain game. Visual tracking, kinesthetic perception. Left/right brain. Analytic mind vs. No mind.


Ball-wall Dribble

Object
  • Kick large ball against wall
Direction
  1. Client stands no more than three feet from wall
  2. Use same leg to kick ball against wall
  3. Alternate legs
Sparking
  • Balance, coordination, core, posture, hips, quadriceps, hamstrings, calves, shins, knee flex, ankles


Plyometric Push-off

Object
  • Fall to bar, then push off
Direction
  1. Client stands three feet from a chest height of slightly lower cross-bar
  2. With open hands in front of shoulders, client simulates a fall to bar
  3. Push off bar to stand erect
Sparking
  • Simulates a fall. This is a push-OFF, not a pushup. Visual tracking, kinesthetic perception, core, balance, coordinatioon, calves, ankle flex, upper-body strength


Blind Ball Toss

Object
  • Catch balls
Direction
  1. Client sits/stands
  2. Holds two balls
  3. With eyes open, small toss up of left ball/catches it; small toss up of right ball/catches it. Repeat 10 times
  4. Repeat with eyes closed
Sparking
  • Visual tracking, kinesthetic perception (hand-eye coordination)
