BBG is the longest-running independent gym in Los Angeles; perhaps the 2nd longest in history (Vince's Gym ran for 49 years. Erik actually worked out at Vince's Gym in the early 80's.)
Erik Flowers and Jackie Joniec have been co-owners for over a decade, guiding BBG to its iconic place in L.A. Gym history. Erik and Jackie are also related: nephew/aunt.
BBG is a neighborhood gym and has never had a sales staff. Along with its no-attitude vibe, BBG is a classic workout gym with the addition of unique state-of-the-industry exercise programming.
Body Builders Gym has been featured in magazines, newspapers and television:
Jackie Joniec: Came from Detroit, MI, by way of Las Vegas, where she was a professional caterer and office manager for a publishing company. She lives in Atwater Village and has two daughters. (Jackie is Erik's aunt.)
